Trump tariffs may help Ukrainian corn producers

In such a case, Ukrainian corn will be in a favorable position: competitive pricing, stable logistics, and strong ties with EU and Asian markets,” reported the analytical agency ASAP Agri.

Although Brazil is expected to gain the most from the tariffs, experts note that it will not be able to satisfy the entire global demand, part of which Ukraine can cover.

The analytical agency Barva Invest notes that in the grain market, the USA is a competitor for Ukraine, not a trade partner. Therefore, the possible introduction of restrictions by other countries on imports from the States could have a significant impact on Ukraine.

According to analysts, it is likely that some reciprocal restrictions will be introduced by the EU, Australia, and China, which opens up strategic opportunities for Ukraine, as in these countries it directly competes with the USA. “This primarily concerns the market for corn, soybeans, and wheat and indirectly - for rapeseed, sunflower oil, and barley,” said Barva Invest.
