The Ministry of Defence proposes to partners to test their weapons on the battlefield
At the Estonian-Ukrainian Defence Industry Forum in Kyiv, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Valeriy Churkin proposed to foreign partners to test their weapons in combat conditions.
As reported by the Ministry of Defence’s press service, Churkin also called for the formation of long-term cooperation in the defence industry sector.
«Estonia is a true friend of our country, and we must enhance industrial cooperation. Among the opportunities Ukraine offers to international partners are testing products in real combat conditions and developing long-term partnerships within joint ventures», said Valeriy Churkin.
During the defence industry forum, the Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine outlined the priority areas where the Ukrainian Defence Forces require support from Estonia. In particular, this includes anti-drone technologies and the modernization of existing weapons used on the front lines. He also thanked Estonia for its continuous and strong support.
For his part, Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur expressed hope that the forum would become a platform for new defence initiatives and technological cooperation. He noted that Estonia is ready to share its experience in IT and digital solutions.
The Ministry of Defence noted that the event also included participation from the Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin, Director of the Defence Procurement Agency Arsen Zhumadilov, as well as representatives from both countries’ industries, government officials, and experts.
