DeepState reports on the advancement of Russian troops near Demydivka in the Belgorod region
The Russian army advanced in the area of Demydivka, Belgorod region, reports the analytical resource DeepState.
The village is located near the border with Ukraine.
Russian sources claim that Russian troops have allegedly fully occupied Demydivka and the neighboring Popivka — another settlement where units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously entered. There is no official confirmation from Ukraine yet.
On the Deep State map, Popivka is marked as a "grey zone," while Demydivka partly remains a disputed territory, partly controlled by Russians.
Deep State also reports difficulties for Ukrainian forces in the Belgorod region. Analysts note that it was not possible to expand the bridgehead deep into Russian territory, and the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are under heavy fire pressure in a limited area. The maneuver was intended to distract enemy forces from other directions, but Russia still had reserves in the "Belgorod" group, which were quickly deployed to contain the Ukrainian offensive.
