Deputy of the Zakarpattia Regional Council Antal organized a "scheme" for evaders

The SAPO and NABU detained a regional council deputy immediately after he received the agreed amount of 20,000 euros.

The deputy of the Zakarpattia Regional Council is suspected of organizing illegal border crossings for conscripts. Together with an accomplice, he facilitated the exit of men of conscription age bypassing checkpoints through influence on border guards.

This is reported by NABU and SAPO on Monday, May 26.

According to the investigation, the deputy involved an "authoritative" person who has influence over the employees of the State Border Service for the unimpeded transportation across the border. 

The cost of the "service" was 10,000 euros per person. 

Additionally, the deputy stated that he could organize the transportation of individuals from Kyiv to a certain location, as well as ensure not only exit but also entry into Ukraine.

The suspects were caught red-handed while receiving 20,000 euros.

The actions of the regional council deputy are qualified under Part 3 of Article 332; Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The media report that it concerns the Zakarpattia Regional Council deputy "For the Future" (formerly PR) Oleksandr Antal.

Antal previously headed the State Land Agency in the Zakarpattia region. Since November 16, 2023, he has been a member of the permanent commission of the regional council on cross-border cooperation, tourism, and recreation development issues.
