Ukraine and Norway extended the "transport visa-free" agreement until the end of the year
Ukraine and Norway have agreed to extend the agreement on the liberalization of freight transportation between the countries until the end of 2025.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development on Facebook.
«The liberalization of freight transportation between Ukraine and Norway has been officially extended to December 31, 2025. The agreement was reached on June 5 during a meeting of the mixed commission between the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine and the Ministry of Transport of Norway», – the message states.
As explained by the Ministry of Development, the transportation of goods between the countries, as well as transit, remains possible without special permits if the truck meets the Euro-5 standard or higher.
The agreement also provides for the possibility of automatic extension of this liberalization after 2025.
Ukraine and Norway first introduced the «transport visa-free regime» in August 2023.
The decision to extend it was the result of negotiations that took place in May during the International Transport Forum in Leipzig, involving the Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Serhiy Derkach, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Transport of Norway, Abel Cecilie Knibe.
Currently, Ukraine has liberalized freight transport conditions with 35 countries, including the EU.
