Israel eliminated the military leadership and nuclear facilities: a list of affected targets published

Israel carried out a large-scale operation, as a result of which, according to preliminary data, key figures of Iran’s defence apparatus were eliminated, and critically important elements of its nuclear infrastructure were hit.

Among the eliminated key figures associated with Iran’s nuclear program and military leadership, according to preliminary data, are:

• Major General Hossein Salami — Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
• Major General Mohammad Bagheri — Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.
• Major General Gholam-Ali Rashid — Commander of the IRGC’s Central "Khatam al-Anbia" Headquarters (previously also reported the death of his son).
• Ali Shamkhani — Advisor to the Supreme Leader, reportedly seriously injured.
• Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani — Former Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (nuclear scientist).
• Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi — President of the Islamic "Azad" University, expert in laser isotope separation (nuclear scientist).

Critically important elements of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure were also hit, including:

• a plutonium reactor for research and medical purposes;
• an underground missile-nuclear complex with a large silo base;
• a nuclear-technology center engaged in uranium processing;
• a research laboratory considered by Israel as a backup for small reactors.

According to the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, the strikes were aimed "at the very heart of the Iranian nuclear program." The operation also covered at least six military bases around Tehran.
