The old methods of combating "Shaheds" are no longer effective — Major Bunyatov

The anti-drone system against kamikaze drones like "Shahed" in Ukraine urgently requires an update, as traditional methods are no longer effective.

This is stated in the announcement by a major of the Zaporizhzhya air defence, which was released by military personnel Stanislav Bunyatov.

"If we cannot effectively protect even the capital, what can be said about other regions? The situation is serious. According to sources from units combating the ’Shaheds’, new modifications have appeared that fly higher, use different frequencies, and do not become easy targets for regular machine gun fire. We are losing effectiveness," the statement says.

The major also emphasized that increasing the number of machine guns will not solve the problem: "This is populism. We need new technologies. If we do not act now, the ’Shahed’ terror will become an everyday reality."
