The State Property Fund sold "Ukrbud" to a company associated with a Georgian oligarch and former officials — media
The state concern "Ukrbud", which includes a significant amount of real estate, was sold at auction for only 805 million hryvnias.
According to journalists, the auction had signs of deceit, and the winner was the company "Petro Oil and Chemicals", which is associated with the Georgian oligarch David Bezhuashvili—owner of Georgia’s largest energy holding Georgian Industrial Group and brother of the former Minister of Defence of Georgia.
Among the auction participants were also companies associated with Vyacheslav Suprunenko—ex-son-in-law of Leonid Chernovetskyi. The director of the winning company, Irakli Katamadze, is a former head of Ukrainian customs, and his father, the current deputy head of ARMA Grigol Katamadze, has close connections with the Georgian government during Saakashvili’s time.
Analysts indicate that a significant portion of the auction participants are fictitious companies that created the illusion of competition in the bidding. Behind this scheme is the cooperation of Russian, Georgian, and Ukrainian business circles previously seen in questionable transactions, particularly around the "Indar" plant.
Despite the change in ownership, "Ukrbud" is obliged to pay dividends to the state budget for the years 2024–2025, including all tax and social obligations accumulated up to the moment of sale.
