Demchenko: In the Sumy region, the enemy has somewhat reduced the activity of small assault groups
In the Sumy region, on the border with Russia, the enemy has slightly reduced the activity of small assault groups.
This was reported on television by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko.
"The length of the border with Russia within the Sumy region is approximately 550 km. And only on a small stretch does the enemy continue to use the tactic of attempting to enter with small assault groups. Armored vehicles, with which the enemy attempted to break through our border, are not observed. The infantry groups are more trying to use ATVs or motor vehicles. However, when speaking of those defense lines where the units of the State Border Guard Service are located, in the last few days, the activity of these enemy infantry groups and their attempts to invade our territory have somewhat decreased," Demchenko stated.
According to him, the enemy loses dozens of personnel killed or wounded daily in this direction.
"Suffering such significant losses, it is possible that the enemy is now regrouping its units, or may reduce the intensity of actions due to an insufficient amount of ’cannon fodder’ that it can use to invade our territory," the spokesperson added.
Furthermore, the enemy’s small infantry groups have started to use ATVs and motorcycles less frequently, as this equipment is also constantly destroyed by Ukrainian forces. On the Ukrainian side, both artillery and drones are used, he noted.
