SSU drones struck five Russian fighter jets at the "Saky" airfield
On the night of August 4, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted another successful operation in the occupied territory. With the power of drones, they managed to hit 5 Russian fighter jets at the Saky airfield in Crimea.
This information was reported by the SSU. They added that one Su-30SM was completely destroyed, and the cost of one aircraft ranges from 35 to 50 million dollars.
Details of the event
"New special operation by the SSU: the Service’s drones hit 5 Russian fighter jets at the Saky airfield, one aircraft completely destroyed," the message states.
It was noted that at night, UAVs from the SSU’s "A" Special Operations Center attacked the Saky military airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea. The facility is a key Russian airbase for operations in the Black Sea.
Consequences of the operation
As a result of the conducted special operation, an aviation armament depot was hit. A Su-30SM aircraft was completely destroyed, and another one was damaged. In addition, three Su-24 aircraft were hit.
"The enemy suffered significant losses. After all, just one Su-30SM aircraft can cost an average of 35 to 50 million dollars," the message notes.
The SSU employees emphasized that the successfully conducted operation is an important step toward reducing the capabilities of the occupiers to continue aggression against Ukraine.
"The successful SSU special operation in Saky is another step towards weakening the enemy’s ability to wage a war of aggression against Ukraine. The occupiers must remember that they will never feel safe on our land!" the message states.
