Head of the Sarny Forestry District Bolokhovets exposed for demanding 3 million hryvnias from a contractor

Bolokhovets from the detention center continues to manage cash collection.

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) exposed the head of the Sarny forestry branch of the "Polissya Forest Office" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" in extorting 3 million UAH from a contractor.

The official set a "rate" for businessmen that they had to pay during 2025. It was documented that in May this amount was 40 UAH per cubic meter of felled timber, and in July it increased to 60 UAH.

The total amount of "tribute" for three months of the contractor’s work amounted to 3 million UAH.

The figure guaranteed the recognition of entrepreneurs as winners based on the results of the subsequent tender procurements for the needs of the forestry enterprises and forest stations located on the branch’s territory.

Interestingly, the branch was closed on August 22 of this year. The acting director was the chief forester Serhiy Belelya.
