Poland deported six Ukrainians who committed criminal offenses
On September 3rd, six Ukrainian citizens were escorted to the state border by officers of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Department and handed over to the Ukrainian side. The foreigners were apprehended the previous day by border guard officers from Łódź, Bydgoszcz, and Warsaw, as well as local police units.
Most of them had previously served sentences in Polish correctional facilities for various offenses. The rest were detained by Border Guard officers during operational and investigative activities in the Masovian, Łódź, and Kuyavian-Pomeranian voivodeships.
The violations attributed to the deportees included multiple thefts, domestic violence, driving under the influence and without a driver’s license, and using forged documents. One of the men was wanted by the authorities.
According to the border guard service, their continued presence in Poland posed a threat to state security and public order. Decisions were made regarding the foreigners for their forced departure and a ban on re-entry to Poland and the Schengen Area for a period of five to ten years.
