Ukrainians wanted by the TRC are detained right at the border after returning from abroad

Men wanted by the TRC are detained at the border immediately upon their return to Ukraine and sent to the military enlistment office.

This is what Ukrainians who have encountered this situation are reporting.

«I went on vacation at the end of August and crossed the border towards Chisinau airport. On the 28th, I was declared wanted. Upon returning to my homeland, border guards called the police, who took me to the nearest TRC for a medical examination», – wrote businessman Andriy Khorsiev on Facebook.

He had a deferment, but despite this, he was declared wanted, and was only released from the TRC after two days.

A video describing a similar case was posted on TikTok by another Ukrainian.

According to him, immediately after crossing the border at the «Krakovets» checkpoint, border guards detain men, call the TRC and police, and then transport them to a distribution point.

As the video’s author recounted, he was offered to avoid this «procedure» by paying 800 dollars.

Later, in the comments, he clarified that he was wanted by the TRC. «Today they let me go after finding out that I am connected to a military unit. But I spent the night in a basement on a bare net. They beat me a little. This is not what you expect when returning home», - he wrote.
