SAPO demands to confiscate the house of the chief customs officer Serhiy Zvyahintsev

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office is requesting the confiscation of a residential house and the land under it in the Kyiv region, where the acting head of the State Customs Service, Serhiy Zvyahintsev, resides.

This is stated in the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court and is confirmed by sources from «Slovo i Dilo» in anti-corruption bodies.

The SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit against the acting head of the State Customs Service, Zvyahintsev, demanding the confiscation of a residential house with a total area of 236.8 square meters and the land under it measuring 0.12 hectares in Ivankovychi, Obukhiv district, Kyiv region. The mentioned property is registered to Zvyahintsev’s father-in-law, Mykola Nikov. According to the prosecution, Zvyahintsev and his family did not have sufficient funds to acquire these assets.

The HACC scheduled a hearing on the lawsuit for October 1 at 13:00.

Earlier, the anti-corruption court set a bail for the head of the State Customs Service amounting to 60,560 UAH. Zvyahintsev was also imposed with the following obligations: to appear upon each request, to inform about any change of residence and workplace, to refrain from communicating with certain individuals, and to surrender foreign passports for safekeeping.

It should be noted that NABU and SAPO have announced suspicion against the acting head of the State Customs Service, Serhiy Zvyahintsev. According to the investigation, in 2021-2023, the suspect did not declare information about the residential house near Kyiv with an area of 236.8 square meters and the land plot on which it is situated.

The investigation determined that the real estate, worth over 100 thousand dollars, was registered to the father of his wife, although the actual owner is him and his family.
