A criminal case has been opened in Kyiv region due to an explosion at a railway station
The police of Kyiv region have initiated a pre-trial investigation into the explosion on the railway near Kyiv.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv region police.
On the night of September 14, an incident occurred on the railway in the Fastiv district. Around 23:40, the police received a report of explosions at a station between the towns of Vasylkiv and Boyarka.
Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene preliminarily determined that the detonation occurred in a freight car, after which a fire broke out. The fire was promptly extinguished by rescuers from the State Emergency Service. According to preliminary data, no information about casualties has been reported.
Investigators from the Kyiv region police department have opened a criminal case regarding the violation of safety rules for the movement or operation of railway transport (Part 2 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
