"We risk losing all infantry": Military urges urgent catch-up with Russia in drone warfare

Ukraine may lose all its infantry if it does not overcome the technological lag behind Russia in the field of drones, — states Ukrainian military and UAV expert Yuriy Kasyanov.

Modern warfare using drones has changed the approach to positional defense: traditional fortifications and the ability to defend with small forces against a numerous enemy are no longer effective. The enemy has an advantage in the air, and the shortage of human resources and materials poses a threat of significant losses.

Kasyanov emphasizes that solving this problem is difficult: private companies, even with state support, will not be able to overcome the technological gap on their own. There is a need to combine private and state resources and appoint someone responsible for carrying out this task, otherwise «we will lose everything».
