The Netherlands allocates 55 million euros for the recovery of Ukraine through the World Bank fund
The Dutch government will allocate 55 million euros to the World Bank’s trust fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, during a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Kyiv on October 6, reports Suspilne.
"Today we are announcing that the Netherlands will allocate 55 million euros to the World Bank’s ’Aid, Recovery, Reconstruction, and Reforms in Ukraine’ fund to help your country recover and rebuild. Because your fight is our fight. And the future of Ukraine is the future of Europe," Schoof noted.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the Russian threat affects all of Europe, as in recent weeks EU countries have faced airspace violations by Russian UAVs and aircraft, as well as other hybrid threats.
Schoof also highlighted Ukraine’s readiness to share its experience in drone combat with European partners, calling it proof of the "unbreakable bond" between Kyiv and Europe.
"Ukraine must be able to count on our firm support now and in the future. The Netherlands and its allies stand by your side. Ukrainians have the full right to live in freedom and safety in a strong and independent Ukraine," he declared.
The head of the Dutch government called for further pressure on Russia, including through the imposition of new sanctions, to achieve a just and lasting peace.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, the Netherlands has provided Ukraine with 20.6 billion euros in aid, of which 13.6 billion is military support.
