The Armed Forces of Ukraine showed how they shoot down "Shaheds" using the Mistral MANPADS
Our defenders continue to "hunt" Russian kamikaze drones, "Shahed," with which the enemy carries out nightly attacks on Ukraine. In particular, the fighters destroy drones using Mistral anti-aircraft missile systems.
This was reported in the Telegram channel "Ukrainian Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine." A video of the effective work was released there.
Details
Mistral anti-aircraft missile systems have been effectively operating in Ukraine’s interests at the front for quite some time.
"The SAMs are designed to target helicopters and aircraft, and our military successfully uses them to shoot down "Shaheds," the report states.
Recently, the warriors of the anti-aircraft missile artillery division of the 39th Separate Coastal Defence Brigade managed to shoot down three enemy kamikaze drones in one combat duty shift.

What is known about the Mistral SAM
Mistral is a modern French system designed to target aircraft and helicopters at low altitudes. The complex was adopted in service as far back as 1987 and was upgraded to the Mistral 2 version in 2000.
Mistral can be used in a portable variant or from ground, sea, or air platforms. Its range reaches up to 6 km, making it an effective means of defence against aerial threats.

After the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in April 2022, Norway provided Ukraine with about 100 such systems. Based on them, mobile air defence fire groups were created in the Armed Forces of Ukraine on pickup trucks, which have already proven their effectiveness in combating enemy aerial targets.
