In Kyiv, a narcologist charged a thousand dollars for "sober" drunk drivers
In Kyiv, a narcologist was charged with turning "miracles" - declaring drunk drivers sober. Each such transformation cost the "clients" $1,000, and the doctor was caught red-handed while accepting another bribe. For this "miracle worker," a prison sentence of 4 to 8 years is threatened.
This was reported by Informator.
The adventures of the capital’s narcologist are reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office. The doctor was detained the day before in Pechersk at Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 10. He was assisting patients who were accused by the police under Article 130 of the Administrative Offences Code of Ukraine (driving a vehicle in a state of alcohol or drug intoxication).
"The doctor was issuing certificates for money stating that the patients had not consumed alcohol or drugs for $1,000. Also, drug-addicted patients were issued certificates saying they do not use drugs," prosecutors stated.
Law enforcement added that the doctor was detained while receiving money from a driver who was in a state of intoxication, as confirmed by the conclusions of two other medical institutions. The investigation is ongoing, and other individuals involved in the crime are being identified, the city prosecutor’s office reported.
Law enforcement also reported that during urgent searches at the residence of the doctor and his colleagues, narcotic substances and live ammunition were found and seized. They have been sent for examination.
