"We are quite close": Trump hopes to end the war without transferring Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine

During the start of the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, Donald Trump expressed an optimistic view on the prospects for a peaceful resolution.

The U.S. President stated that he hopes for a swift end to the war that would not require the involvement of new types of weaponry:

«I hope we can end the war without thinking about ’Tomahawks.’ We are quite close to that.»

This statement indicates that Trump prioritizes a diplomatic solution to the conflict and views the potential transfer of Tomahawk missiles as a possible tool for escalation, which, in his opinion, can be avoided.
