Family connections and million-dollar salaries: How Bolokhovets built a family empire in "Forests of Ukraine"

This structure is headed by General Director Bolokhovets, who in recent years has created a whole network of family and personal connections around him.

Briefly about the main characters:

Sheremet is Bolokhovets’ godfather, as well as the director of the department at the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine". His salary, along with bonuses and incentives, amounts to about 1.5 million UAH per month.

His wife is Veronika Maurer, head of the department in the same structure, earning over 1.2 million UAH per month.

It is particularly cynical that Sheremet studies full-time in postgraduate studies.

A logical question arises: how can he simultaneously attend classes and perform a full range of his duties at the central office of "Forests of Ukraine"?

His scientific supervisor is Oleksiy Boyko, a former head of the Kyiv regional forestry department, whom Bolokhovets dismissed for refusing to collect corrupt "contributions" from subordinates and businesses.

After that, the position was taken by Viktor Sakhnuk, known as the "collector of tributes" in Bolokhovets’ system.
