"Complete lie": Zelenskyy responds to Russia’s claims about the encirclement of Ukrainian troops

Russian claims about the alleged encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the areas of Kupyansk and Pokrovsk are complete lies.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a phone conversation with the host of "TSN Week," Alla Mazur.

In particular, today Russian generals reported to Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin that their forces had allegedly encircled up to 5,000 Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk. However, this information is not true.

"This is a complete lie. And not the first one," Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that the purpose of such reports is to cause panic. However, this time the fake is aimed at the United States to create the impression that Russia is supposedly winning on the battlefield.

Zelenskyy also informed that he has the latest information from the General Staff and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

The head of state reported that this week, Russian activity near Kupyansk and Pokrovsk was one and a half to two times lower than in previous periods.

In addition, the President noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have the situation under control, and such reports are nothing more than disinformation maneuvers by the Kremlin.
