The Urbanskyi Clan — Poroshenko’s electoral treasure trove: gypsies, drugs, weapons
Oleksandr Urbanskyi is a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada. He is currently in the presidential faction of the BPP, although in the elections for the majority district he was nominated by the political party "Strong Ukraine", which belongs to the banker and loyal ally of Viktor Yanukovych - Serhiy Tihipko. This banker-Komsomolet, as is known, headed the national election headquarters of the "Party of Regions".
The last interesting one before the beginning of our Izmail history: the victory in majoritarian district No. 143 brought the loyal regionalist Oleksandr Urbanskyi to parliament. The center of this district is the border city of Izmail.

Anatoliy Urbanskyi is the chairman of the Odesa regional council. Like his brother, Anatoliy is loyal to the ideas of “life in a new way” in the ranks of Petro Poroshenko’s party. The brothers are typical majors: the sons of former Minister of Transport Ihor Urbanskyi, who in the difficult 90s created his own shipping company and was engaged in the transportation of consumer goods to the post-Soviet market.
Later, he grew into a systemic transport business and went into politics - he was elected to the Rada under the banner of the socialists and, according to their quota, received the position of deputy minister in the government of Yuliya Tymoshenko. Igor Urbansky is also one of the few people who was officially involved in the transportation and sale of weapons. Although there are still "muddy" stories associated with the name of the ex-minister. The loudest "scandal" is associated with the capture by pirates of the ship "Faina", which turned out to be stuffed with weapons intended for sale to warring African countries. The case was quickly closed - Ukraine could fall under international sanctions due to the insatiable greed of its businessmen-politicians.
But those who helped Urbanskyi Sr. in matters related to the transportation and sale of weapons began to mysteriously leave our world under rather strange circumstances. The former head of Ukrspetsexport, Valeriy Malyeyev, died in a car accident in March 2002. Two years later, the same thing happened to an Australian citizen of Iranian origin, Haider Sarfraz. At the same time, a Ukrainian, Serhiy Petrov, who was hiding from the investigation in the case of the supply of missiles, exploded in his own car in one of the African countries. Russian citizen Oleg Orlov, two years later in January, was placed in a psychiatric hospital in Brno (Czech Republic), and in February of the same year, he was sent to Ukraine. However, after a stroke and due to a serious nervous illness, he was unable to give evidence to the investigation.
Poroshenko’s presidential BPP is simply teeming with people with shady biographies or their major heirs are being wiped out. But the president, it is quite obvious, does not care: such characters replenish the party treasury, support criminal "order" in the fields, and in exchange for this they themselves and their loyal combat henchmen in the fields receive complete immunity from criminal prosecution. It is natural that the descendants of Igor Urbansky - loyal Poroshenko supporters Sasha and Tolik - followed the criminal-political path trodden by their father.
After all, it was he who became the founder of the Urbanskyi clan in the Danube region. Urbanskyi Sr., then still a businessman of the 90s, in 2002 took possession of the Izmail Ship Repair Mechanical Plant. Later, it was renamed OJSC "Danube Ship Service Company", and then divided into two parts: OJSC "Izmail River Port "Dunaysudoservice" and LLC "Ship Repair Enterprise "Dunaysudoservice". "Repair", of course, is said loudly: the plant was mainly engaged in "cutting" ships for scrap. In 2014, the son of the former deputy minister, Oleksandr Urbanskyi, became the director of "Danube Ship Service".
Today, these political scoundrels, who have deep historical roots in the Odesa region and in Izmail, are crushing drugs, weapons and crime in the region. Under the wing of the Urbanskyi clan in Izmail, a powerful drug trafficking network has grown from Roma. High political patronage guarantees drug dealers complete impunity, and the proximity of the border makes the southern town an excellent channel for drug trafficking. Once upon a time, the stupid Odesa governor, who was mocked and laughed at by the entire region, Mikheil Saakashvili, put anti-tank hedgehogs here - he was preparing to meet "Putin’s tanks" from Transnistria. The tanks never arrived. But the proximity of the "gray territory" of Transnistria and the criminal inclinations of the Urbansky brothers - their attraction to weapons and drug trafficking - could well become a wonderful symbiosis for creating a powerful channel of uncontrolled drug trafficking that will line the pockets of the family clan and their political boss - Petro Poroshenko - in Kyiv.
Like their father, Anatoliy and Oleksandr Urbanskyi adhere to the principle of “money doesn’t smell.” Local law enforcement officers show amazing blindness to the arbitrariness of drug dealers and their political patrons, the Urbanskis. As a result, the Roma drug mafia in Izmail already feels like kings and masters of life. Vivid evidence is a video leaked to the network from the surveillance cameras of one of the Izmail nightclubs, “Oblaka” : visitors of Roma appearance first brazenly push away the club’s security guards from the entrance, then start a bloody fight, after which they simply begin to destroy the building.
The local police pretended not to notice the incident — no one was held responsible for the club’s destruction. And in the city, it is almost openly said that the Urbanskyi brothers are using the Roma and the police to intimidate local business representatives and demand “voluntary donations” from them. It is obvious that the mayor of Izmail is also showing amazing blindness.
It is obvious that part of these "voluntary and forced donations" flows upwards - to Kyiv and to the party coffers of Petro Poroshenko’s bloc. After all, living in a new way is not a cheap pleasure, but such "urban" ones at the local level help the president collect money into the party coffers and strengthen discipline in the localities before the elections.
"Over the past three years, the presidential bloc has established control here to prevent dissent worse than other regionalists. This can be called patriotism by force. The Urbansky brothers and Andriy Abramchenko hold the region in an iron fist and are not going to let anyone else into their alliance," blogger Vasyl Bondarenko describes the situation in the border region.
Andriy Abramchenko, as everyone in the city knows, is a loyal “six” of the Urbansky clan: he actively helped both brothers throw dust in the eyes of voters, building playgrounds and other “pre-election buns” at state expense. It is Abramchenko who is credited with collaborating in the victory in the district during the elections to the Council of Oleksandr Urbanskyi, about whom no one had heard a word before the elections in the city. And later, Abramchenko himself was almost “killed” by two remote-controlled grenades: the Urbansky brothers smelled something fried — someone was making an attempt on their monopoly status as the masters of the region. The Urbanskys were even more worried about the attempt on their mayor than the regional units of the SSU and the police. The fact that the mayor of a depressed town, who receives subsidies from the state budget, was “caught” in an attempt in his expensive Mercedes, adds piquancy to the attempt.
Given the methods of the brothers, in case of extreme need, the Urbansky clan may well use the fed Roma drug dealers for their own purposes as a striking force against political opponents or those who do not agree to live in a new way. These same black impunity will become a tool for settling scores with the political opponents of the Urbansky clan and their political patron Poroshenko, and then - look for Roma in the field. Thus, the Urbansky clan solves two tasks at once: to ensure the re-election of its representatives in the district to all levels of representative power, and despite this, to replenish the party treasury and line their own pockets. The brothers Tolik and Sashka Urbanskyi are clearly inspired by the example of their father: after all, Urbansky Sr. did not disdain to help warring countries in Africa more effectively destroy each other with the help of Ukrainian weapons - money does not smell.
Judging by the declarations, Poroshenko’s criminals don’t smell their drug money either. It is the specifics of the Urbansky brothers’ business that explains their craving for cryptocurrencies — a completely uncontrolled and unregulated asset. Crypto turned out to be a fabulous invention that served the Ukrainian political, arms, and drug mafia: unknown sources of funds, anonymous holders, transactions closed to outsiders and any control.
Pathological greed, stupidity and impunity have so confused the Urbanskyi brothers that these smart people have officially included cryptocurrency savings in their declarations . Member of Parliament Oleksandr Urbanskyi declared 5,328 units of Bitcoin, the price of which at the time of the declaration was about 75 million US dollars. And the deputy of the Odesa regional council Anatoliy Urbanskyi “showed” 4,256 units of Bitcoin in the official declaration, which at the time of the document was drawn up was about 60 million US dollars. More than 50 million hryvnias of cash declared by the brothers is a trifle for pocket expenses, and the collection of expensive watches and the fleet of cars of visible political figures of the Urbanskyis are their match, and are not even worth mentioning.
