Former Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Shevchenko is suspected of illegal privatization

Former Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Olha Shevchenko, has been notified of suspicion of official negligence, which caused damage to the state in excess of 1 million hryvnias.

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation.

According to the investigation, in August 2023, Shevchenko, temporarily acting as the head of the service, signed documents regarding the inclusion of two administrative buildings in the Kyiv region in the list of properties subject to privatization. However, these premises were actually used by the veterinary medicine department and thus could not be sold.

As a result, the buildings were transferred to private ownership, and the state structure was forced to rent new premises. The damage to the budget, according to experts’ estimates, amounted to over a million hryvnias.

Shevchenko was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official negligence). Currently, she does not hold any positions in the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
